Warning Signs of Stroke You Shouldn't Ignore

A stroke is a condition that occurs when the blood supply to the brain is reduced or interrupted. Even though it often happens suddenly, there are several warning signs that appear before the stroke. Knowing them you can save your life or the life of someone else, so keep reading and make sure you share this information with many people.

One woman, during a BBQ, stumbled and fell, however she told everyone that she was ok and that she tripped because she was wearing new shoes. She kept doing what she did before she fell even though she felt a little shaken up. Later that night, her husband called their friends who were with them during the day and told them that she is at the hospital. Unfortunately, she passed away. None of them realized that she had a stroke at the BBQ which was the cause of her death. If at least one person recognized the symptoms, she could have survived.

This is why it is extremely important to know the symptoms of a stroke because according to neurologists, a stroke victim can survive if taken to the hospital within 3 hours of the stroke.

Stroke warning signs

The easiest way to remember the warning signs of stroke is by following the 3 steps called STR.

S – Ask the person to smile

T – Ask the person to talk or speak a simple sentence

R – Ask the person to raise both arms

In case the person has difficulty performing any of these three tasks, you should immediately call an ambulance.

Recently, doctors noticed that there is another sign of stroke which is the tongue. The person should be asked to stick out the tongue. If it is crooked and goes to one side or the other, it is a sign of a stroke.
